Biography
Natalia Ladyko is a true Renaissance woman, excelling across multiple disciplines across the last 20 years. As an accomplished actress on Australian stage and screen, Natalia is also a highly skilled Makeup and Prosthetic Makeup Artist, having worked on major films such as King Kong and Fall Guy, now expanding her creative horizons as a director and photographer. Additionally, Natalia is a talented dancer.
Natalia has worked extensively, touring nationally and internationally in theatre, gracing the stages of Belvoir Theatre and Griffin Theatre in the Augie Award-winning play A Violent Outburst That Drew Me To You. Her talent was further recognized when she won Best Actress in 2021 at the Frost Bite Film Festival for her role in a short thriller.
Natalia’s screen credits span iconic Australian television, including Home & Away, Brock, Catching Milat, Play School, The Secret She Keeps, Secret Daughter, and Ready For This, as well as independent feature films like Me & My Left Brain (from the writer of Alex & Eve) and Blood Shot Heart.
Natalia continues to write and produce her own work. Her first web series, Bad Maid, was a finalist at the 2021 Gold Coast Film Festival, and Season II, Bad Masseuse, screening as part of the offical selection at the Online Awards in Toronto, Canada 2024, marking another milestone in her multi-faceted career.
Other webseries Natalia has appeared in is award-winning How To Know If You're Dating A Narcissist (Sweary Canary). Trying her hand at writing and producing; Bad Maid (I Was Here Productions) and short film He Tyt (directed by Stef Smith) and short films: Dance With Me (directed by Conrad Coleby) and Parked (directed by Marcus Graham).
Natalia is currently in development of a new theatre show, PINK LEMONADE, and is producing her very first documentary, Brisbane to Belarus and Back.
Other theatre credits include Awakening directed by Kate Gaul, Dark dell'Arte by Materiark Theatre, Black Crows - Living Room Theatre, a sell-out season of Macondo's Clothesline, created by Marquez's Laundry (NIDA), (AWGIE winning) The Violent Outburst That Drew Me To You (Kate Gaul, Griffin Independent Season), She Only Barks At Night and She Only Cries At Night- Living Room Theatre; A View From Moving Windows directed by Augusta Supple and Better Man - Bulldog Productions. Queen C (Belvoir), Molly – A Tale of Blood & Guts & Giants & Weddings (CarriageWorks), Petting Zoo National Regional Tour (Arts On Tour), one woman show – I Want To Be A Miracle (Newtown Theatre), The Horrible Demise of Detective Slate (Fraser Studios), Cogs and the Dragon (Powerhouse Museum/Malenia Walk Singapore), Gondwana (QTC).
Amongst her credits, Natalia was a resident performer for Erth for eight years and is Co-Artistic Director of a traveling theatre company, Umbrella Theatre.
Other notable credits include: ‘Chewing Bob Fossy’ (ATYP, Sarah Emery with Kate Gaul), artist in residence at the Transit Lounge (Youth Arts Queensland) and the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts in Brisbane, creating and directing her first movement work - ECNAD (click here for pictures). Actor: Titus – The Ultimate Murder Ballad Musical (2006), ‘In The Raw 2006’ at Darlinghurst Theatre, A City Of Shadows And Ice (2007), Polyphonic Bonus Features (Chris Ryan 2007) Yellow Roses (The MAP project, QUT), director, choreographer and costume designer for Water Rituals a part of Watermark, the opening site-specific event for the Brisbane River Festival (mentored by Donna Jackson); resident artist - ArtsLab at Shopfront Contemporary Arts Centre, and Feet First, a six week residency with Legs On The Wall.
